OCTOBER
HBCU college tours provide African American students, parents, teachers, and counselors with the unique opportunity to visit multiple college campuses in a single trip. It will give students a solid understanding of the history, culture, and traditions that have shaped the schools’ collective legacy, and a framework for comparison that will help them choose the right HBCU. Dates coming soon.
Veronica Watkins is the Founder of Sista’s of Royalty, Inc. (SOR), a nonprofit mentoring program empowering young girls. A passionate servant leader from Canton, Mississippi, Veronica has been married for 28 years, is the proud mother of three adult children, and a loving Bibi (grandmother) to three grandchildren.
A graduate of Anderson University, Veronica is currently pursuing a degree in Professional Studies with a focus on Public Relations and Marketing at the University of Southern Indiana.
Veronica has built a dynamic career, from managing a group home for at-risk girls to roles in radio, human resources, and business development in the casino industry. She later founded SBV Event Planning & Consulting, LLC, working with high-profile clients such as Tamika Catchings, 3x Olympic Gold Medalist, and Griff, nationally syndicated radio host. She currently manages BreeAnn Hammond, star of WE tv’s Grown & Gospel.
In addition to her business ventures, Veronica serves on the board of the Fight for Life Foundation and has led SOR since its founding in 2019, mentoring girls in grades 3–12. Through strategic partnerships with organizations like the Lily Endowment Foundation, Firefly Children’s Alliance and DreaMakers (founded by Drew Sidora), she has expanded SOR’s impact and continues to inspire the next generation of women leaders.
